The October event in the CORC 2002 Summer Rally Series is described below...

The Fall Phobia Rally

Due to a scheduling conflict with another local event, and a few other factors, this event has been postponed until next Spring.  When re-scheduled it will be done such that we can see more of the old Sunriser roads, and enjoy a meal break mid-way through the event.

If you want to be sure to get an email with the updated information as soon as the new date is set, and notices of other CORC rallys, send an email to rpaddock@tsass.com

Re-visit some of the roads that made the Sunriser 400 Forest Rally Famous...

Rallymaster(s)

  • Dick & Tammy Paddock- 614.539.4100

Start Location:

Park & Ride lot on Stringtown Road, Grove City, OH

  • Take IR-71 south from IR-270 on the south side of Columbus
  • Exit immediately at the Stringtown Road exit (Exit 100)
  • Go west on Stringtown Road
  • About 3/4 mile later, you will see the Park & Ride lot at Parkmead on your left just before the Stringtown / Old Stringtown split.
  • You will see us in the lot.

Finish Location:

  • The event will finish at the Donato's Pizza across from the Park & Ride

Event Highlights:

This event will use the same route book format as the July rally (mileages and tulip instructions) and will traverse some of the roads used as special stages on the Sunriser 400 Forest Rally.  Although all roads will be paved, and the route will be VERY easy to follow, you will be challenged to answer some questions as you follow the route.  These questions will test your ability to observe what you pass along the route, as well as your knowledge of Sunriser trivia.  A special award will be given to the team that answers the most questions correctly and collects the most valuable scavanger items.  Since you will be trying to find things along the route, the speeds will be slow enough to allow viewing the fall leaves, looking for things and generally enjoying the route.

Visit the July web page for information on tulip style instructions and basic time-keeping.

For a sample page from the route instructions, click HERE  If you print the instruction page you will see the following...

The first column is the instruction number.  The second column is the interval mileage between turns.  The third column is a Tulip diagram of the turn (you enter at the dot and leave at the arrowhead).  The fourth column is the written instruction or confirmation information.  The last column is the interval time until you LEAVE that instruction's mileage point.

Flyer:

A Adobe Acrobat version of the event flyer can be downloaded by clicking here as soon as it is ready..
